According to several media outlets, Sean “Diddy” Combs has been placed on suicide watch while in custody a Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Centre.
Following the arrest of the 54 years old rapper for Federal Sex Crime charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for the purpose of prostitution.
Judge Robyn Tarnofsky ordered Combs held in custody after hearing from prosecutors and Combs’ legal team late Tuesday afternoon. Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, appealed the decision on Wednesday and lost. Prosecutors had asked for Combs to be held in custody, arguing that he “poses a continuing and substantial danger to the community, has repeatedly engaged in obstructive behavior, and is a serious risk of flight,” while his attorneys asked for him to be released on bail.
In requesting bail, Combs’ attorneys cited conditions at Metropolitan Detention Center, where an inmate was murdered earlier this summer and at least four inmates died by suicide in the past three years. Jeffrey Epstein also notably took his own life at Metropolitan Detention centre in 2019.
Several reports claim that Mr Combs was placed under suicide watch as he is in shock and his mental state is unclear.
